Profile of Programme

The master’s program in Teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE) is both research-based and profession-oriented. The training offered provides students with essential tools for the analysis of teaching situations as well as practical tools that enable intervention in professional sectors related to the teaching process. It also offers training focused on classroom techniques and practices that allow for effective teaching to diverse audiences (children, teenagers, adults).

This master’s degree is aimed at students and/or teachers of French as a foreign language working in the public and private sectors, as well as future teachers wishing to acquire specialization in Teaching French as Foreign Language , combined with expertise in education management and administration. It allows students holding a bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Bac+4) to specialize in one year and a half.

From September 2024, the Master in Teaching French as a Foreign Language will be offered in hybrid and/or distance learning mode. This new format offers both face-to-face and distance learning sessions (distance learning is online and monitored by teachers).

  •   the implementation of innovative approaches based on the use of information and communication technologies,
  •    the acquisition of an interactive teaching and learning experience,
  •    access to a variety of resources and materials unavailable or difficult to access in traditional classroom environments.

At the organizational level, the hybrid and/or distance learning mode enables

  •          much more flexible management of study time and location. Learn at your own pace, at almost any time and from almost anywhere,
  •          the opportunity to resume studies,
  •          the possibility to obtain a master’s degree abroad without having to leave one's own country,
  •         the possibility to train without being absent from one’s workplace,

The grading system is numerical, from 0 to 10 with increments of ½. The minimum passing grade is 5. The final grade of a graduate student is calculated as the grade point average of all courses passed by the student.

In a postgraduate programme of study, courses can be graded as Success/Failure. These courses do not count towards the student’s GPA, and may not exceed 25% of the programme’s ECTS, with the exception of the dissertation units. All courses are presented in the Postgraduate Studies Prospectus.
The diploma dissertation, thesis, research and writing stages are graded with Success / Failure. The final grade of the dissertation is registered in the last semester of its elaboration. Master level dissertations are calculated qualitatively as Excellent, Very Good, Good, and Failure.
